Heavy, thundery showers will turn locally torrential with the risk of hail tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday), according to the Met Office.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for between 13:00 and 21:00 as warm, moist air from the continent will be made unstable by a system coming over it from the Atlantic.
The Met Office say there is a risk of 20mm or more of rainfall in an hour and 50mm in just a few hours.
Islanders are being warned about the risk of localised flooding.
