UPDATED: Firefighters from Sandown are tackling a fire within a public toilet block in the town this afternoon (Saturday).
One appliance from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service turned out to the incident on St Johns Road at just before 16:30.
Breathing apparatus and a hose reel are being used to extinguish the flames.
It is the second time in recent weeks that the public toilets have caught fire.
UPDATE @ 16:45 – A second pumping appliance from Ryde has arrived at the incident in Sandown, however the fire has now been brought under control and the second pump is returning to station.
UPDATE @ 16:55 – The fire has been extinguished and crews are making up.
Police have been requested to attend the scene.
