Lola, a 19-year-old tiger that was rescued from a French circus back in 1999, has sadly died at the Isle of Wight Zoo today (Wednesday), it has been announced by the Sandown attraction.
A spokesperson for the charity has this evening said:
“With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Lola the tiger today. She was a firey, smart, sweet and elegant tiger, loved to the very end.
“She will be remembered for her mental and physical agility”.
In January 2015 the Zoo lost the much-loved tiger ‘Diamond’, just weeks after the death of ‘Charlie Brown’. Charlie’s soul mate, Snoopy, died in 2012.
