UPDATED: The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for tomorrow (Saturday), advising of thunderstorms, hail and heavy downpours of rain.
Up to 25mm of rain could fall within just an hour across the Isle of Wight, with thunderstorms and hail likely throughout tomorrow afternoon.
The warning is in force from midday until 21:00.
Islanders should be aware of the potential for localised surface water flooding, whilst lightning and hail will also be additional hazards for travel and outdoor activities.
UPDATE @ 11:10 – The Met Office have extended their weather warning area this morning and say that heavy rain is likely to develop more widely through the afternoon and continue into the evening, with some localised intense downpours.
