UPDATED: 3 vehicles have been involved in a road traffic collision on Lake Hill near Sandown this afternoon (Tuesday), resulting in local diversions.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the collision at around 13:45 following reports of a crash involving a VW taxi, a Citroen van and a Hyundai car.
Although there is believed to be no serious injuries, the road is currently closed to traffic heading into Sandown from Lake to allow emergency services to attend to those injured. The road remains open to traffic heading out of Sandown.
Traffic is building up in the area and motorists, including Southern Vectis buses, are currently being diverted down The Fairway, Lake and through Perowne Way.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 16:00 – A total of 3 people have received minor injuries in this afternoon’s crash, which has resulted in one person being conveyed t St Mary’s Hospital.
The road has now reopened in both directions, however traffic remains heavy in the area.
