For the third consecutive year, the exemplary customer-focused attitude of the whole team at one of Wightlink’s terminals has been recognised with a tourism industry award.
Wightlink’s Yarmouth team have, for the third year running, won the “Friendliest Venue” category at the annual Visitor Attraction Association (VAA) Awards. The award was presented at the association’s AGM on 16 March.
Martin Simpson, Chair of the VAA, said:
“This particular award is given to the venue which has been consistently friendly, helpful, have great customer service skills and who go that extra mile. There are very many sites visited by the VAA and many friendly venues on the Island, many with one or two members of staff who shine out. However, the whole team at Yarmouth are always exemplary”.
Sandie James, Operations Support Manager from Wightlink, said:
“We are delighted that the Yarmouth team has won this award for the third year running. Our staff in Yarmouth are giving the service Wightlink wants and our customers deserve and expect.
“The staff are of course delighted to win this accolade, but I think they are just being themselves and treating others as they would hope to be treated. Nonetheless, it’s great that their efforts have been recognised again and are justifiably being rewarded”.
The VAA Awards were established three years ago and seven awards are presented, five of which are voted for by the public and two of which the VAA committee and delivery team award.
