Motorists can now fill up their cars with extra fuel when paying at the pump thanks to a recent change at Tesco in Ryde.
Until now, those filling up with petrol or diesel could only draw £99 worth of fuel when using the Pay@Pump facility.
However, a recent change means that the upper limit has been increased to £120 – which means those with large fuel tanks can purchase around an extra 11 litres of fuel in a single transaction.
With the price of fuel having reached £2.00 a litre not too long ago, the increased limit now in force will be welcomed by those who regularly hit the £99 limit before reaching the capacity of the tank.
It’s unclear if the change has been implemented at any other filling stations on the Island, or other Tesco stores nationwide.
Kind of them given one of their directors stated that they have not lowered the price of fuel because they use the profits from the pumps to boost the stores finances so once again these companies rip off the motorists

That’s fantastic news, I’m so glad I have the option to be relieved of even more cash in a single transaction. Although I’m surprised they haven’t set it to a maximum of £120.01 because their pumps always seem to like going over by a penny. Every little helps!

The article should read “to benefit Tesco”, not to benefit customers.
Plus while they have hold of your 120 pounds x how many doing it round the country , before refunding the difference they gain the interest off said money.
