A man who ran from Police has been arrested, questioned and bailed after officers seized suspected stolen goods and pliers yesterday afternoon (Wednesday). Shortly before 15:00, officers engaged with a man in Newport who subsequently ran away. Officers followed and arrested the man in nearby Carisbrooke Road before searching nearby commercial bins. Officers located and seized some suspected stolen goods including clothing and perfume, along with a pair of pliers. The 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and going equipped for theft. He has been bailed with conditions until 20th March while enquiries continue.
