31-year-old Antonio Panayi has been charged with a number of drug supply offences after he was arrested in Gosport on Wednesday night.
Panayi, of Eddington Road in St Helens, was arrested at Gosport ferry terminal whilst Police were conducting an operation targeting knife crime.
Officers’ attention was drawn to Panayi and they soon discovered a quantity of suspected drugs, approximately £4,500 cash and mobile phones.
The 31-year-old was subsequently charged with possession of amphetamine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and possession of criminal property.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).
These dealers are idiots. Always make it obvious what they are up to. If they had a few brain cells would be easy to not look like a dealer. The first step is have a bath and put on clean cloths so you don’t smell like a junky.
If it was that obvious, wouldn’t they all be behind bars?

Dealer’s are far from idiots. It is the poor victims who you are describing, and they need help as they are living miserable lives.
The dealers are wealthy and live more comfortable lives that those who work and pay their taxes. They are rarely addicts and are living off the misery of others and appear to be living respectably.
These are the people who need catching and given long sentences in prison, stripped of all of their assets and not given parole. If non UK citizens, then need deporting when released. Organised crime groups are ruining the lives of millions , and are costing the rest of us dearly in terms of the strain on public services, poverty for victims and the misery caused to the victim’s families and friends.

Wrong place, wrong time. Or were they waiting for him under the guise of something else? In any event, most of the drugs flooding the island arrives here by ferry. If they really want to stop drugs coming over on ferries, station a police dog and handler at every entrance port and for a few weeks, have the dog check around every single vehicle on board. Even better, 2 dogs at every port and have one sweep the vehicles and one sweep through the passengers upstairs. Wightlink and Red Funnel have a duty of care too. Their businesses facilitate drug dealers moving their produce.

A piece of crap taken off the streets for a while ‘hopefully’. Certain types think the IOW is an easy target, WRONG. We have a good community here and people notice things and look out for others, much more than on the mainland, which is practically non existent.

Every time I walk into town in Ryde it stinks of weed. I see people walking along the road smoking weed. There is weed everywhere, it reeks and the people smoking it all tend to look like the same sort of people, those with no ambition, morality or ability to dress well. The Police appear to not really care at all about dealing with this problem on any large scale.
They do care but just haven’t got the resources. Stick to arresting the dealers and cut off the supply.
How can cannabis users look the same ? What about those that have an illness and depend on it for pain relief.
