UPDATED: Those traveling across the Solent face continued disruption this morning (Tuesday) due to the adverse weather conditions.
Hovertravel have suspended their service between Ryde and Southsea until further notice as the winds whistle up through the Solent.
Meanwhile Wightlink have called off a number of car ferry sailings as a result of the strong gusts being experienced in the Western Solent. The 10:00 car ferry sailing from Lymington and the 11:05 from Yarmouth have both been cancelled.
Back on dry land… the annual pancake day races at Yarmouth have also been cancelled due to the wind and rain.
Other Wightlink services and Red Funnel’s passenger and vehicle services are running without fault.
UPDATE – Cross-Solent services have now resumed to normal
