Strong winds, which saw gusts of over 70mph recorded at The Needles, resulted in a number of call outs for Island Roads overnight.
Contractors were sent out to Shorwell Shute, Shorwell when a fallen tree came down across the carriageway between Shorwell and Bowcombe.
A second incident saw yet another tree damaged by the wind, this time in Bembridge. The tree crashed into power lines at Forelands Road resulting in Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks being alerted to the situation. The road remained open.
Cross-Solent travel was partially effected last night with Hovertravel services suspended and Red Jet crossings cancelled. All services are now back to normal.
