A set of steps that allow walkers to access a beach in St Lawrence have been closed by the Isle of Wight Council for safety reasons.
It’s as land movement has been noted in the area and is said to be in progress. The movement of the land can be hazardous and cause damage to structures, which in turn could make the steps liable to collapse.
The Council says that the steps at Woody Bay will remain closed until such a time that they are repaired and deemed safe to use.

The same words were used when the Luccombe and Whale Chine steps were closed. ‘until such time as they are repaired’ !!!
…. .steps “liable to collapse”, but currently ok? Not sure why they’ve been removed to be “repaired”.
Removed and never to be replaced so more beaches are now not able to be used just like east cowes seafront how many years ago did that landslide happen and you still can’t drive along there
