WightWays and The Water Mill at Calbourne have joined forces to launch a new Summer wellbeing experience – weekly Wednesday walks followed by a traditional cream tea at one of the Isle of Wight’s most historic locations.
Running every Wednesday from 23rd July until 1st October, the Watermill Wednesday Walk will take participants on a scenic 4-mile guided route through the beautiful Caul Bourne valley – the same stream that has powered the historic mill for over a thousand years.
Led by WightWays founder Rachel Richards, the circular walk offers a relaxed pace through shady woods, open fields and quiet country lanes before finishing with a well-earned cream tea in the Mill café.
Rachel Richards, Founder of WightWays, has said:
“We wanted to create something that blends movement, heritage, and connection.
“The Caul Bourne is a hidden gem, and the Mill provides the perfect setting to reflect, recharge, and enjoy a traditional treat in good company.”
Sally Chaucer, Managing Director of The Mill at Calbourne, has said:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with WightWays to bring the Caul Bourne and the Mill’s story to life through these guided walks. It’s a wonderful way to welcome people and celebrate the landscape that surrounds us.”
Walks start at 13:30 and last around 2.5 hours. They are open to adults of all ages with moderate fitness. Each ticket costs £15, which includes the guided walk and cream tea. Group sizes are capped at 20 to keep the experience relaxed and friendly.
Free parking is available on site and the Southern Vectis summer bus service stops directly outside the Mill on Wednesdays.
Booking is essential and places are expected to fill up quickly. For more information and to reserve your space, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/watermill-wednesday-walks-4433263.
