Fort Victoria became a hub of Halloween fun during the most recent half-term.
The Fort Victoria Business Association comprising The Reptilarium, Island Planetarium, Museum & Gift Shops, Cafe Verdi and The Imaginarium which are all based at Fort Victoria Country park in Yarmouth hosted 9 days of free and low-cost activities so that all families on the Island could enjoy half term without the pressures of the cost of living crisis.
Free activities included trails in the country parks woodland and a clue hunt that explored the heritage features of the fort, all participants were given a small toy and goody bag for each activity completed that was kindly donated by The Imaginarium and The Museum & Gift shops at the fort.
Low-cost activities were organised including fossil forays led by the Isle of Wight council park ranger, bugs and beasts sessions in the Reptilarium including a visit from the Isle of Wight bat Hospital and live planetarium shows throughout the week.
There was also potion-making, colouring and crafting taking place all week for the families to enjoy. Over 1600 free tickets were claimed for the event and feedback has been terrific, so much so we are already planning an event for the February half term.
