Supporters, riders, sponsors and volunteers turned out in good numbers for the Fan’s Forum at the Andrew Younie Smallbrook Stadium last night (Sunday) to hear from the Warriors co-promoters Martin Widman and Barry Bishop.

A number of key elements to the speedway season were confirmed at the meeting, including that admission prices at to be held at last year’s rate for 2019.

A sponsorship deal with Wightlink has been not only renewed but extended, with further initiatives under discussion. Other sponsorship take up is good with 1 or 2 new opportunities to be publicised shortly.

The first meeting of the 2019 season will be thursday 11th April, the Vince Mapley Memorial Trophy. A second meeting will take place on Tuesday 16th April – details of which are to be announced soon.

The annual press and practice day will be going ahead but not until Eastbourne have finalised their fixtures. The Warrior’s management feel it essential to have their doubling up riders Ben Morley and Georgie Wood available to meet press, sponsors and public.

It has been confirmed that the Wightlink Wizards are to continue next season in the Southern Development League and whenever possible their races to be integrated with the main fixture.
