Ryde Inshore Rescue has located and recovered an unmanned speedboat situated under Ryde Pier tonight (Friday).
Solent Coastguard requested the launch of the volunteer lifeboat service at 21:05 following reports of a small boat underneath the structure of the historic Ryde Pier.
Launching Ryde Rescue 2 (RR2), the volunteer crew swiftly located the vessel before conducting a brief search to ensure it was unmanned and that there were no persons in difficulty.
The speedboat was towed into nearby Ryde Harbour, where it was met by Coastguard Officers from Ryde Coastguard Initial Response Team.
Ryde Rescue 2 has now returned to station.
