It has been 10 years since Specsavers Newport made the move from 40 High Street to its larger home at 107 High Street – a milestone now being marked by the team.
The store was established by Timothy Kidd in 1989 at 40 High Street, before moving into the new, larger location at 107 High Street in 2015, which allowed optical and audiology services to be combined under one roof.
Since moving to the larger premises, the team has grown steadily and now shares more than 250 years of combined experience in optics and audiology.
The Newport store is locally owned and operated under Specsavers’ partnership model.
Catherine Kidd, Director at Specsavers Newport, has said:
“We are so excited to be able to mark this anniversary and share our journey with the local community.
“The last decade has seen so many changes, and we wanted to highlight the growth and achievements of this store, as well as thanking everyone who has been part of this journey since we moved into this building.
“We love being part of this community and will continue to support your eye and ear health. We thank everyone who has supported us in the past ten years”.
Gary Riggs, Ophthalmic Director, has said:
“Over the past 10 years since our relocation, we’ve made significant investments in cutting-edge technology and advanced training and qualifications for our team. These advances have enabled us to provide care that goes well beyond a standard examination, placing us in an excellent position to support the local community with a wide range of eye and ear health concerns.”

Really nice Specsavers staff here. I hope they get a birthday bonus
In todays economic climate their bonus is being employed.
Great opticians I recommend it to all the Numpty motorists
so they can read speed signs and will know when to slow down.
