Two men’s late night fishing trip last night (Friday) ended with their boat having to be towed to safety by Cowes RNLI.
Their boat suffered an engine breakdown shortly before 22:00 near to the West of Ryde Middle, forcing the men to drop anchor and phone for help.
The lifeboat towed the boat up the River Medina to The Folly, eventually returning back to the lifeboat station at 00:45.
Has no one started up a paid for breakdown service yet? It’s an opportunity out there for someone that the emergency services could put boat owners in touch with when they have a simple non life threatening situation.
