Fire crews have responded to a small electrical fire at Quarr Abbey on the outskirts of Ryde this morning (Thursday).
It was just before 10:30 that 4 appliances from Ryde, Newport and Sandown were mobilised to reports of smoke coming the courtyard area.
Donning breathing apparatus, firefighters entered a building that houses a disabled toilet.
The situation has now been brought under control with all persons safe and well. The Abbey itself is unaffected.
Engineers from Scottish and Southern Electricity have been called out to conduct further investigation work.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is now standing down resources from the incident.
