Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club’s Bass Andre has claimed 2 gold medals and a silver at the British Coastal Championships in Tynemouth, South Shields.
Competing over a demanding 4km course, Andre showcased exceptional form following their recent return from GB trials. They dominated both the single sculls and a composite crew event in the quadruple sculls, using extensive coastal racing experience to secure victories by commanding margins.
Andre also paired with club mate Alex Robertson in the mixed double sculls, where the duo delivered an excellent performance to claim silver by the narrowest of margins. The result marked an impressive comeback for Robertson, adding to the club’s success on the national stage.

With these outstanding results, Bass Andre and fellow Shanklin rowers now turn their attention to the upcoming British Beach Sprints Championships in Bournemouth at the end of August.
