WightSAR – the Isle of Wight’s volunteer lowland search and rescue organisation – has received a £1,000 donation from Leslies Motors thanks to a loyalty platform called ‘Oomph’.
The forecourt manager at Northwood Garage, Ben Maher, managed to secure a £1,000 donation from Gulf Retail UK’s award-winning forecourt loyalty platform Oomph.
A spokesperson for Leslies has said:
“Wight SAR do amazing work on the Island, searching for vulnerable and missing persons. They rely on donations from the public and support from sponsors to fund their mission. We’re so proud to be able to donate towards such a worthy cause”.
A further donation of £2,000 has been received by WightSAR thanks to the efforts of customers and staff at Tesco Express in Lake.
Spare change placed into collection pots within the store led to a cheque being handed over to volunteers last week.
Dan Ringer, Tesco Express (Lake) Store Manager, said:
“We are always keen to support great local charities and are very proud of our customers to have achieved this amount”.
Luke, WightSAR Vice Chairman, adds:
“We are extremely grateful to all the staff & customers at Tesco Express (Lake) in their continued support to WightSAR. Raising over 2k from Collection Pots is an amazing achievement that all involved should be very proud of and every penny will go towards our life saving searches”.

It’s a lovely thought, come on the rest of you businesses if everyone donates even a small amount? You never know if at any point in your life you might need their help???
