There’s no need to adjust your monitor or refresh the page… the brand new Island Echo website has landed on both desktop and mobile devices!
Version 4 of the website has gone live today (Friday) following several months of development. It follows on from the previous website release in October 2016.
Although the website design has been refreshed to bring it up to modern expectations and standards, the site should still feel familiar to readers with the keeping of the site’s general navigation and house style.
The pesky bugs have gone and have been replaced by a speedy, reliable website that meets the needs of 24 hour news in 2018.
Darren Toogood, Editor of Island Echo has said:
“We know that readers, especially Android users, have been struggling to access the Island Echo website for a number of reasons in recent weeks. To address these issues in a timely manner we have brought forward the release of our new website to today (Friday).
“Our increased popularity over the past 12 months has led to a greater demand for services and therefore we must constantly adapt and evolve to meet modern standards. The new design is met with increased performance and functionality which will allow all readers to access Island Echo no matter how big a story may be.
“The media landscape on the Isle of Wight has changed dramatically in recent years with a greater emphasis on online news. We hope that this new website will help us maintain our position as the go-to source for the latest news from across the Isle of Wight.
“Thank you for your patience and continued support of the Island’s news source”.
