Ryde and District Round Table played host to a masquerade ball last month in aid of 2 fantastic local charities; the Isle of Wight Youth Trust and Solent Mind.
The event was conceived following the success of the groups inaugural 2023 Gatsby-themed dinner and dance which was a hugely successful evening and raised over £8,500 for charity.
However, the #DoMore mantra of Round Table is fully embraced by the group’s members residing on the island, and this year their aspiration to put on a bigger and more successful event for local charities was well and truly achieved.
With the support from event sponsors Better Green Group, HT Advisory and Blanchard Fields Ltd, and generous donations from several local businesses, Ryde and District Round Table were able to organise a fun packed evening of great entertainment, delicious food and fundraising activities. The Lakeside Hotel and Spa in Wootton was glamorously decorated for the event to tie in with the theme, with over one hundred immaculately dressed guests creating an electric atmosphere and playing their part in creating a hugely successful and memorable evening for all.

“It has been extremely rewarding for Ryde and District Round table to be able to host another great event in the aid of two incredible local charities. Through the hard work put in by the group and its supporter, our ambitious 2024 fundraising goals have been exceeded, with the evening raising £15,000 to our two chosen charities. Our continued success would not be possible without you, and we look forward to welcoming you to an even bigger and more extravagant Autumn dinner and dance in 2025.”

“Ryde and District Round Tables donation will go towards a number of vital services that Solent Mind provide to residents of the island. This can range from support provided at our Crisis Centres to assistance on our employment service, which help island residents get back into work. Whichever service is used, we aim to ensure that people who need help can access our support and know that they don’t have to face their mental health issues alone. Once again, thank you very much to Ryde and District Round Table for raising so much for Solent Mind.”

Due to their generosity, we will be able to further our support for autistic young islanders through the development of new resources, dedicated skilled staff, and specialist training.”
In addition to their Masquerade Ball, Ryde and District Round Table have been busy reviving the Ryde Santa Dash Event in aid of Mountbatten Hospice and FYFEY.
Collectively their efforts have helped to raise more than £21,500 for local charities during 2024.
