Ryde Academy hosted its annual Awards Evening earlier this month, bringing together parents, carers and staff at Ryde All Saints Church to celebrate the successes of students over the past academic year.
Students were honoured for their achievements in categories such as ‘Highest Achievement’ and ‘Best Progress’, recognising both academic performance and personal development.
Year 8 student Daisy Sabine received the Academy Council Award for her standout contributions to the Student Council. Her dedication, insightful input and consistent support throughout the year earned her praise as a valued representative for her peers.
Ralph Kibblewhite Fox, in Year 11, was presented with the Head of School Award. He was recognised for embodying the values of Ryde Academy, showing resilience, positivity and a strong work ethic during his exam year.
Also acknowledged during the evening were members of the Year 11 Prefect Team, House Captains, Wellbeing Captains, Sports Captains, Ambassadors and over 300 other students who made meaningful contributions to the Ryde Academy community. Among those receiving special recognition was Mia D, awarded the Year 11 Prefect Award.
Special guests Richard May – retired headteacher and former Mayor of Ryde – and Major Mark Player MBE, a former Ryde Academy student, were invited to present the awards.
The school has said the evening was a fitting celebration of student dedication and community spirit as the Academy looks ahead to the next academic year.
