UPDATED: Emergency services are this evening (Tuesday) attending a road traffic collision on Middle Road near Calbourne involving at least 2 vehicles.
No one is believed to be trapped in the incident, however Police and paramedics are arriving on scene to assess the situation. The incident occurred at around 18:15.
It is thought one appliance from Newport Fire Station is attending the incident.
The road is said to be passable in both directions however motorists should find an alternative route.
UPDATE @ 19:50 – No one has been seriously injured in the crash, which has left debris across the carriageway.
Island Echo understands 4 vehicles have been involved.
Recovery of the damaged vehicles has been arranged and the scene is expected to be cleared shortly.
