A large Police presence – including numerous armed officers – descended on Lake earlier this morning (Tuesday) following reports of a man with weapons on a residential street.
Police were first called at 08:13 to a report of an incident outside an address on Lea Road.
A glut of Police resources – including a dog unit – descended on the residential address. At the scene, officers arrested a man on suspicion of being in possession of bladed article in a public place.
However, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has since confirmed that following enquiries, it was established no offences had been committed and he was de-arrested.

More hysteria.
The island is like the wild west, it use to be a
safe place.
