Cross-Solent services are disrupted for the second day in a row, this time due to adverse weather affecting passenger services to and from the Isle of Wight.
Red Jet services between West Cowes and Southampton have been suspended until further notice this morning (Wednesday) due to the adverse conditions.
A revised timetable was already set to be in operation today due to technical issues with Red Jet 6, leading to the cancellation of 12 sailings.
An update is due at 09:00.
Meanwhile, Hovertravel has confirmed that its operations have also ground to a halt due to the weather.
Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service, with an update due at 09:15.
UPDATE @ 11:16 – Wightlink has now announced the cancellations of 4 sailings on the FastCat service.
The 11:15 and 12:15 sailings from Portsmouth Harbour have been scrapped alongside the 12:45 and 13:45 from Ryde Pier Head.
Hovertravel services remain suspended with the next update expected at 12:45, with RedJet services also suspended until at least midday.
Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service is running with delays of 35 minutes.
UPDATE @ 12:57 – Wightlink has reported 2 hour delays on their Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service
Wightlink has now cancelled their 13:15 FastCat sailing from Portsmouth Harbour and the 13:45 sailing from Ryde Pier Head.
UPDATE @ 13:55 – Red Jet services between Southampton and West Cowes have resumed back to their revised timetable as previously reported by Island Echo.
UPDATE @ 19:57 – Red Jet services have been suspended once again, due to the deteiorating conditions.
Red Funnel says the service will not run again this evening.
Wightlink is advising of 20 minute delays on its FastCat service, and delays of nearly 2 hours on its car ferry service.
