Red Funnel’s revised timetable, utilising just 1 of 3 ferries in the fleet, will continue into the new week, it has been confirmed.
A problem with Red Falcon’s engine was discovered on 8th March, which has led to significant disruption on Red Funnel’s East Cowes-Southampton service since. This is because Red Eagle is out of service for annual refit, leaving just Red Osprey to keep the service operational.
At the end of last week Red Funnel said that realignment of Falcon’s engine timings needed to carried out, as well as sea trials. The trials were scheduled for Saturday.
It appears either Red Falcon didn’t make it to the trials or has failed her sea trials as it’s been confirmed that the revised timetable is not only continuing today (Sunday), but throughout tomorrow too.
Red Osprey will operate the following daily crossings until further notice:
Departing Southampton: 03:00, 06:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, 21:00, 23:55
Departing East Cowes: 01:30, 04:30, 07:30, 10:30, 13:30, 16:30, 19:30, 22:30
In a statement, Red Funnel has said:
“We sincerely apologise for this disruption and are working hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
“We are in the process of moving traffic and contacting affected customers with changes to their travel times, so please bear with us and we will be in touch shortly”.
If the Dinghy services from France took a leaf out
of Red Funnels book, the country would save
Billions of pounds on hotel bills etc and reduce the
never ending £20 billion pound blackhole
Labour keep going on about.
Then they could re-instate the winter fuel allowance
for the pensioners.
Billions of pounds? Where did you pluck that figure from then, hmm? No, please don’t tell me; the mental imagery would haunt me ever time you post another dribbling comment.
As for the winter fuel allowance, see if you can find out how many of the country’s pensioners need the allowance, as opposed to those who don’t and estimate the cost to the public purse to give money to all those who don’t actually need it.
Also, message for Darren; can I go back to being a ‘trusted member’ please? I don’t much care for the idea of nobility. If you’re struggling with superlatives you could also try decent, ethical, reputable etc. but I’ll also accept scathing, feisty, spirited and challenging. 😉
Labour goon are you ?..yes many 100s of millions for them houseing benifits..
Sadly this country is finished, only a war
might save it.
Majority of internationals living in the UK
will emigrate, they won’t fight for Britain!.
I read today on GB news today
1 million foreign persons are claiming
universal credit and it’s costing £7.5 billion
pound a year.
You can Google it to see for yourself.
Just put it down like a rabid dog.
