Red Funnel has been awarded an Order of Distinction (20 consecutive Golds) Award for health and safety performance by RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
Beyond reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work, RoSPA Awards recognise organisations that have good health and safety management systems in place, and aim to reinforce the message that good health and safety is good business.
This award demonstrates Red Funnel’s commitment to the safety of its passengers and crew.
Fran Collins, Chief Executive at Red Funnel, said:
“Safety is a key part of our business and we are delighted to have received this award by RoSPA. I am extremely proud of our team for their efforts to ensure a safe and reliable service.”
The RoSPA Awards is one of the most prestigious and recognised schemes in the world, with almost 2,000 entries every year. Since 1956, it has recognised and rewarded companies and people around the world for their safety performance.
Easy to cut the amount of accidents and cases of ill health at work if you cut the amount of crossings you make per year. Bit surprised that the Floating Bridge didn’t get the award on that basis
Are they taking the p**s ! ?
I also noticed that wightlink got some sort of award the other day also.
Why can’t they have a special award for reliability and value for money.
Maybe there is an award for this, but the two ferry company’s keep this secret, becouse they keep coming last ! ?
Is it April the 1st then… how the hell did this get awarded to such a dire company. Health and Safety, what a joke.
Who came 2nd and 3rd?
Titanic and Costa Concordua?
