For the second year in a row, the Red Arrows – the Royal Air Force’s iconic aerobatic display team – will not be performing in the skies above the Isle of Wight. The 2024 event calendar has been confirmed with 46 displays planned, which includes an international trip to Canada later in the year. However, the Isle of Wight Festival nor the iconic Cowes Week celebrations – or any other Island event – are included in this year’s timetable. The nearest the Red Arrows will get to the Isle of Wight will be when they perform a flypast only for the D-Day 80th National Commemorative event in Portsmouth. They will also be displaying at Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex on the Thursday and Friday of the 4-day event.

They can’t afford the Ferry Crossing
Lol
They probably heard it costs 50p to have a P I S S
so decided to go elsewhere, who can blame them.
They are probably worried that the Councils G’estapo Enforcement Officers
will slap a ticket on them when they fly over the island.
As usual the British tax payer giving everyone else in the world freebie’s and showing off, while we hardly get to see what we pay for and enjoy what little we have.
Probably don’t want to see the views off sandown and county hall
That’s something else gone then. Having lived here near my entire life, and I’m no spring chicken, I can honestly say, it’s become incredibly dull. I would like to enjoy life again before I die.
What a depressing bunch of comments.
All the comments are true, it is sadly what has become of
this island.
IW council have ruined this once great Island.
Just like Khan ruined London and Drakeford
ruined Wales, IW Council are ruining the Island.
Next….same ol stuff…
Would do us more of a favour if scouring the Channel for unwanted flotsam heading this way.
Very simple question Why??
Cant fly over because of too much glare from the solar farms
