Records could well be broken by the end of this week with temperatures potentially reaching a scorching 35c on the Island.
A heatwave is set to hit the Isle of Wight from Thursday with temperatures climbing from the low 20s on Wednesday to over 30c on Friday, peaking at a potentially record-breaking 35c by the weekend.
Hot air from Africa will move northwards towards the United Kingdom, dwarfing temperatures seen here last Thursday and Friday to set a new hottest day of 2020.
Wednesday will see some cloud in places and some drizzle possible in the South Wight, alongside the risk of fog. By Thursday there is a dramatic change with light winds and temperatures starting to soar towards 27c.
Friday will see stronger but moderate winds with many places set to see the mid to high 20s, with the potential for 30c or above in central and northern parts of the Isle of Wight. It is set to be a very hot day with sunny skies.
With no rain forecast for the coming days there will be a real risk of fire, especially as crowds flock to the countryside and BBQs are lit across the Island.
As always, forecasts can change and different computer models are throwing up a variety of results – but it is clear that it will be a hot few days ahead, just how hot exactly remains to be seen…

Quick, run outside your house and dig up the road.
I wish they would ban bbqs. Fed up with the stifling,anti-social stink of them, even worse on a hot day, You can’t get away from the stink of burnt meat. Why should those of us who don’t want to breathe that in be unable to relax outside for not being able to breathe and getting choked up by the stink of the things? Not to mention the rowdiness of the ignorant types all congregated outside round one, with not a thought to who they might by adversely affecting.
Home made kebabs are nice, using veg and chicken. Burgers are a bit dull if eaten too often.
Have you never cooked your own bbq?
