The theft of another motorcycle in Ryde has prompted an appeal from a distraught owner tonight (Wednesday).
It’s reported that a blue, black and white WR Yamaha 125 – registration HW61 JVE – was taken from outside an address on St Michael’s Avenue in Haylands at some point between 12:00 and 17:00 this afternoon.
The rear L plate is said to be partially broken, which makes the vehicle easier to identify.
It comes following the theft of another 125cc motorcycle in Ryde, as previously reported by Island Echo. It was less than 2 weeks ago that a 125cc was also stolen from Ashey Road.
There have been initial reports of another motorcycle being stolen in the Newport area overnight also.
UPDATE – The Yamaha motorcycle has now been located, it has been confirmed to Island Echo.
predictions are the people who took this are the same people who took the CBR last month… all up near haylands in ryde…
It’s not good that someone stole this motorbike, however it will probably teach the person to stop driving his motorbike up and down that road like a moron. ( including the other 4 of his friends ). Nobody enjoys listening to the sound of this person revving their motorbike up every single day.
Looks like the type of bike driven by a complete berk
Saw your car the other day and thought the same..
Hi Markson Clarke I am the mum of the lad that had his bike stolen and wanted to firstly apologise for the noise. They don’t intentionally rev the bikes up but when started up and left to warm up before they drive off it can be loud and I do understand that. When his friends come round to go out for a ride it can get noisy, but they are young, enjoying life and they cause no trouble what so ever to anyone so although I sympathise with you I also think at least they’re not the ones stealing bikes or causing trouble.
Warning many bikes thefts from car parks/ roadsides.Ryde/Brading area especially. My sister’s scooter (HONDA SH125i Reg HW13 AWM) was taken from Brading car park, between 24 – 27th January, no witnesses so the Police are pending investigation. A week after reported stolen, she received an intention to prosecute from police for speeding on Culver Parade 27th Jan,(the day reported stolen) so knows last location sited. Photo on social media on IE ‘Tues (bikes stolen from Ryde)’ report) shared photo of charred remains of scooter on Yaverland cliffpath, it is prob hers – hope it will now be fully investigated…but bikers be aware! sad times.
Most of these bikes you see parked have no anti theft devices on them at all no disc locks ir heavy chain and locks if you don’t lock it it will get pinched for joy riding then torched lock it or loose it
Fill the island with scum,, this is what happens
Crime is going crazy here, something needs to be done.
Peace and quite at last in haylands and judging by the comments on here maybe it’s karma Lianne
