Police officers have increased patrols at Parkhurst Forest after reports of anti-social behaviour in and around the popular Isle of Wight beauty spot.
Officers have recently been out in the forest during the day, working alongside the Forestry Commission as part of efforts to tackle concerns raised by visitors.
Police say forestry areas are intended for everyone to enjoy, whether for walking, leisure or fresh air, and are urging the public to act responsibly when using shared outdoor spaces.
Reassurance patrols are set to continue, with officers maintaining a visible presence in the area to deter further incidents.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any anti-social behaviour by calling 101 or using the online reporting portal. In an emergency, dial 999.
PC Liz 29602 and PCSO Tilly 19881 have said:
“Forestry areas are for everyone to enjoy—for walking, leisure, and fresh air.
“We ask all visitors to be respectful when using these shared spaces.”

Anyone caught in the forest causing anti-social behaviour
being they are so close to the Prison, chuck them in a cell
for at least a month, that will stop them being a nuisance.
