A Fiat Punto smashing into a brick wall saw Police respond to Ryde earlier this evening (Saturday).
The incident occurred on Esplanade opposite the Waterside Pool at around 19:30 and saw the small hatchback leave the road and collide with a residential garden wall, sending shattered brick all over pavement.
As a result of the smash, the Fiat sustained front end damage.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary sent just 2 patrol vehicles to the scene. No other emergency service personnel were required.
Island Echo understands that no injuries were sustained by the occupants of the vehicle.
The vehicle has been left in situ as has the rubble – which is currently blocking the pavement.
UPDATE @ 21:00 – Island Roads are on site and have erected a wall around the rubble.

Fancy putting a wall there, lol.
Might be a good idea to book an
appointment at Specsavers.
Time for a re-test, me thinks.
