Police have confirmed that 33-year-old Elezaj Shkelzen from Oxfordshire is the man at the centre of a major missing person search following the discovery of a jet ski in the Solent on Tuesday.
Elezaj was last seen on a jet ski leaving Lymington for Langstone Harbour at 18:00 on Tuesday 4th August.
Just before 20:00 on the same evening, a tanker alert Solent Coastguard to the discovery of a personal watercraft (PWC) adrift off Stokes Bay.
A major search and rescue operation was launched but nothing has been found to date.
Now, Hampshire Constabulary have identified the missing man and are appealing for help from the public.
Elezaj is described as wearing a light grey and white hoody, dark Adidas shorts and a camouflage waterproof jacket. He may have had an orange life-jacket with him.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a jet ski being ridden in the Solent between Milford-On-Sea and Stokes Bay.

An appeal is not normally issued in a lost at sea incident. He may have problems and there may be good reason for his disappearance so let’s hope he’s still alive and on dry land somewhere.

This is sad news for his family and friends but too many jet skiers take too many risks. Not wearing a life jacket it was thought – wearing a camouflage top? Didn’t leave a message where he was going to go to or for how long. Jet skiers almost never have emergency equipment like flares or carry radio.
Probably cost thousands of pounds to look for him.

If its the person brought ashore at Southsea, he was unconscious but alive and taken to hospital according to news reports
Very sad indeed, perhaps safer to jet ski with others. He died doing something he loved .
I love to sail and there is risk in accidents in that as well.
