Police are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the unexpected death of a woman who was found outside a property in Cowes this morning (Saturday).
It was just gone 09:00 that the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded, at speed, to The Parade following the discovery of a woman in a courtyard area.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the woman’s life could not be saved and she was pronounced deceased.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was informed of the death at just before 09:30, with officers attending the scene at Harbour House – a £1million seafront property overlooking The Solent.
The force says that the death is currently being treated as ‘unexpected’, with enquiries underway to establish the full circumstances.
Next of kin have been informed and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
