UPDATED: POLICE HELICOPTER JOINS SEARCH FOR SUSPECT IN CARISBROOKE

A search for a suspect, who is said to have run away following an incident at a residential property, is underway in the Carisbrooke area tonight (Monday).

The National Police Air Service helicopter, which is based out of Benson in Oxfordshire, is currently circling Carisbrooke and Newport as units on the ground go from garden to garden.

Police initially responded to the Carisbrooke High Street area at around 19:00, with officers also present in Priory Road and Purdy Road. The search is now focused on the area surrounding Christ the King College with outbuildings in the area being searched.

“reports of disorder at an address on Carisbrooke High Street at around 15:00”
“Police initially responded to the Carisbrooke High Street area at around 19:00”

I think I may know why the suspect was able to elude officers.
