An urgent search to locate a missing person was launched in the East Wight last night (Monday), but the individual returned home of their own accord.
It was at around 21:30 that Police responded to St Helens, with several officers descending on the Nodes Point holiday park and surrounding areas.
By 22:00 the National Police Air Service helicopter from Bournemouth was circling overhead, focusing on the Priory Bay coastline between Nettlestone and St Helens.
However, within around 10 minutes of the helicopter arriving overhead, the search was stood down.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the missing person returned home of their own accord.
