UPDATED: Multiple Police units have descended on a sleepy part of Binstead Estate near Ryde this evening (Tuesday).
Shortly before 19:00 more than 6 vehicles arrived at Waterloo Crescent and neighbouring Wellington Road, raising the attention of local residents.
It is currently unclear what has sparked the large response – including the Armed Response and Roads Policing Vehicle – to an area that is normally a quiet, crime-free part of Ryde.
Island Echo understands 1 arrest has been made but Hampshire Constabulary are yet to comment on the incident.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a pursuit in which a Police car was crashed into.
