A Police car has been involved in a road traffic collision with a Jeep 4×4 in Newport this afternoon (Saturday). The crash occurred shortly before 14:25 at the Hunnyhill crossroads, where Hunnyhill, Foxes Road, Hunnycross Way and St James’ Street all meet. The Jeep appears to have ploughed into the side of the Ford Focus Police car belonging to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary. It is unknown at this time if the Police car was responding on blue lights and sirens A spokesperson for the Force has said:
“We were made aware of reports of a road-traffic collision involving a police vehicle at the junction of Vicarage Walk and Hunnyhill in Newport at around 2.20pm this afternoon (4 November). “No injuries were reported”.
