Police have vowed to take enforcement action against those present at an illegal, COVID-breaching gathering which had to be stopped by officers during the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
At around 02:00, Hampshire Constabulary attended an address in Ryde following a tip-off that a party was taking place against COVID-19 rules set out by the Government.
Officers soon discovered more than 20 people together inside the property, with no social distancing taking place.
Police say they will be taking action to enforce the law against those who breached the COVID-safe regulations. Licensing enquiries are also taking place at a connected commercial property.
A spokesperson has said:
“Blatant breaches of COVID restrictions will be enforced. We all know the rules by now”.
Islanders who know someone who attended the gathering overnight are now being told to consider whether or not they should socialist with those individuals, taking into account the party had a large number of people present.
I wouldn’t socialise with anyone who drinks in that drugs den it’s like a crack house in those toilets check the surface in them

There is absolutely no mention of age! As an 18 year old (didn’t have an 18th birthday party due to COVID) I can assure you that everyone I know of a similar age to me has been sensible about this whole situation. Before anyone starts castigating me for making biased comments about people who live in Ryde…I’ve already read of fines being issued to younger people hosting party’s in mainland UK and thought it was pointless because they won’t have any money, I don’t mean people who live in Ryde per se.

So the guests would just say that they ‘had come to complain about the noise’ or, just come to take someone home after they realised that there were more than 6 people there’ etc etc.

The reason they are not effective is that people are not abiding by the guidelines. The security personnel at one major supermarket told me yesterday that I was the first person that morning to clean trolley and clean my hands. Inside there were at least 5 females not wearing masks, but staff are not allowed to question ‘why’.

As to the Summer visitors not bringing CV, imo, I think much news was held back and testing limited in the Summer season by HMG, so as not to ‘worry’ people and put them off of coming on Hols, in the UK, as HMG wanted to keep businesses afloat.
Hence NOW, prior to the Christmas spending spree, CV is highly at the top of the news, as HMG want it to ease when Christmas spending is needed, so by doing a OTT lock down now, it hopes to be able to ease pressure to ensure the tills are pinging for the Christmas spending.

Successive Western Governments have done the same with masse im migtration. They have slowly, very subtly brainwashed the indigenous to believe that filling their land with millions of very poor people would be somehow ‘good’ for them.
Yet the only people to ‘gain’ are the huge factory and businesses owners, who are not just ‘coincidently’ political party supporters, as they do ‘gain’ by more impoverished coming here then lowering the wages they need to pay. For the business owners can they pay the lowest wage, for the worst conditons, knowing if you won’t work for it, the next boat load will.
Bad enough, but then because the wages are low, the public then have to have stealth taxes imposed upon them to pay for the heavily subsidised rent and council tax of the new comers, and to pay for all the expensive education and NHS fees for all their oft numerous children.
So we lose out in many ways, by having more expensive rents and property prices, due to supply and demand, but then, for the same supply and demand reason, we have lower wages. And then have stealth taxes imposed to pay for their increase demand for child and working tax credits and all the extra places for their children’s expensive education and NHS demands.
The environment suffers because of more houses are needed, causing more energy, water, waste, and rubbish. More cars and pollution. And less wildlife and green spaces as more homes cover our once beautiful land. Everywhere becomes more overcrowded and unpleasant, beauty spots filled, beaches crammed, roads a nightmare.
Add more of the most terrible crimes, and you ‘surely’ can see, what a wonderful ‘job’ the Governments have done in making the ‘unacceptable’ acceptable, all done slowly over the years so each generation just ‘accept it’ without complaint.

Main issue is now, those businesses who did gain by these people, now no longer want so many staff. And unlike when the UK just issued work visas for any extra needed labour, the country (us) then have to pay to keep all these now unneeded people, who, because of culture of many children, are growing vastly in numbers, at a time when less and less manual labour is needed.
A perfect storm of future misery for our children now, but the rich business owners will not worry, they can afford to live a wonderful life, anywhere they choose to, private health, private education, living away from the crime and overcrowding they impose on us.
Yet the old race card is pulled if anyone tries to discuss this at higher levels.

I think there maybe something out there, plus it is flu season, so I wear a mask and distance myself, as asked. I do get annoyed though when I see older children not distancing and no masks… have the parents not been informed that these people can be carriers? Obviously not.
I was in a pub the other day and a man came i9n with two over 10 but under 16 year olds, none of them had masks on. Unknown why they were allowed in and served..
