A man arrested after a female cyclist was allegedly pushed from a sea wall in Sandown has been released on bail until November, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed.
The 38-year-old from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident on Culver Parade at around 15:10 on Tuesday (5th August).
The woman, aged in her 60s, was cycling along the seafront path when she was reportedly pushed, causing her to fall several feet onto the beach below.
She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance. The air ambulance also responded, but was not required.
Police have now confirmed that the arrested man has been bailed until 5th November as investigations continue.
