A kitchen fire in a third-floor flat in the heart of Ventnor, prompted an emergency response from Shanklin and Ryde firefighters.
Shanklin and Ryde crews were alerted at 09:21 to a kitchen fire at a property on Church Street in Ventnor.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a plastic bag left atop the kitchen hob.
Wearing breathing apparatus firefighters entered the fire in a third floor flat to extinguish the fire using a hose reel.
Ventilation fans were operation to clear smoke, with one casualty being treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. The stop message came in at 10:02.
