A pie left cooking in the microwave oven led to the turnout of 2 fire appliances to an address in Shanklin late last night (Friday).
A domestic fire alarm at The Rogers, off Green Lane, was trigged by the burnt foodstuffs at 23:30.
Retained firefighters from Cowes, who were standing by at Sandown, were mobilised to the scene alongside a second appliance.
The pie was left soaking in the sink and the property was ventilated.

Pissed where they ?
What a stupid comment.
Most likely stoned, knowing and working in that area last month.
I agree, sure to have been a bit pie-eyed.
Good job it wasn’t a bun in the oven.
Waste of a good pie.
If you cook a pie in the microwave then you deserve everything you get. Absolutely ridiculous! I bet it was a teenager on crack cocaine, with no education who had popped out to get there state handouts without wearing a mask – you can always tell if you read between the lines – right on!
“Pie in the oven leads to Fire service turn out”
Probably smelt it cooking and wanted something to do other than drink tea and play pool at the station all night long
I didn’t realize the wife was cooking in Shanklin
I hope they had their new “cobra” with them, in case it was a snake and pigmy pie. 🙂
