UPDATED: A pedestrian has been involved in a collision with a car in Ryde Town this lunchtime (Friday).
Emergency services are attending the incident on the corner of High Street and Garfield Road, outside the Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop. They were alerted to the collision at around 12:20.
One person is currently being attended to by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The driver of the vehicle, a VW Touran, has been uninjured.
Southern Vectis buses Routes 4 and 9 are diverting via St John’s Road to Queens Road as they exit Ryde. The Victoria Street bus stop is currently not being served as a result.
UPDATE @ 13:23 – The road has now reopened to all traffic, with Southern Vcetis buses resuming a normal route.
The pedestrian – a woman – has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, however is not thought to have been seriously injured.
