7x world record-holding stand-up paddle boarder David Haze is set to circumnavigate the Isle of Wight to raise money for Surfers Against Sewage on 1st August.
David’s solo journey is set to take 5 days. Every bit of equipment he will be using will be either recycled, recyclable, carbon neutral, or eco-friendly and leaves no carbon footprint. This ranges from his board, clothes, equipment, and food, which will be ethically sourced from the Island.
David will be teaming up with Empower Energy for his epic adventure. Empower Energy have a passion for offsetting the impact of climate change by harnessing the power of renewable energy, most specifically solar power.
Speaking about his upcoming challenge, David says:
“I am about to undertake the world’s first completely carbon neutral environmentally friendly expedition. The board I am using is 100% recycled, as everything was found in a skip destined for landfill.
“I am looking to work with brands who share the same vision and want to protect the planet too, and the exposure I am getting around this project would be an amazing opportunity for brands to highlight their own work. I will be using this challenge to raise money and awareness for Surfers Against Sewage and awareness for the Big Plastic Pledge.”
