UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision at Shalfleet between Yarmouth and Newport this afternoon (Thursday), in which a car has overturned.
The incident, which is currently blocking the main road, occurred at just before 15:30. It is thought one vehicle has been involved.
Those travelling to the Isle of Wight Festival via the Wightlink Lymington-Yarmouth ferry service will face delays.
Southern Vectis say the Route 309 school bus is currently stuck behind the incident and is delayed as a result, but is not involved.
UPDATE @ 16:10 – No one has been trapped in the incident, which has occurred near to Warlands Lane.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene alongside Police.
It is hoped that the road will be cleared within the next 30-60 minutes.
Route 7 buses are diverting via Elm Lane until further notice.
UPDATE @ 16:40 – The road has now been cleared and all buses are returning to a normal route.
