Theatretrain students, ex-students and teachers performed a charity concert at Ryde Academy’s theatre on 28th October, in a bid to raise money for Mountbatten Hospice.
All proceeds from ticket sales went to charity, along with all money raised from the raffle.
A total of £616 was raised on the night.
Led by a large creative team – Julie Caudle (Production), Hannah Caudle (Vocals) & Milly Jolliffe (Choreography), and with performances from some of the Island’s most talented young performers, the event was touted as a huge success.
The audience was lucky enough to witness student, Mila Lake – who appeared on The Voice 2022 – take to the stage for her first performance since the show, with spectators shedding tears when Sophia Houghton joined her to sing Shallow from A Star is Born, which was 1 of their winning duets from their competing days.
On their website, a spokesperson from Theatretrain said:
“We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response from Island businesses offering some incredible prizes. Including: A child’s balance bike, A meal for 2, Ferry travel, Water sports hire, to name but a few.”
