Islanders are being reminded that waste and recycling collections will not be affected by the Bank Holiday on Monday (27th May). The Isle of Wight Council has confirmed there will be no change to the waste collection service for Monday, or any other collections for next week.
Lynnbottom and Afton Marsh will also be open as normal – although pre-booking is still required. More information can be found at www.iow.gov.uk/waste.
The refuse and bulky waste collections will continue as normal too. Island households are being asked to place waste by the kerbside as normal by 07:00 on Monday 27th May.

Once again for £59 a week I would expect my bin to be emptied no matter what type of holiday it is!!! Ps note to council I still don’t and won’t separate my rubbish as it all goes in the same bin!! Black or green I just fill it up with anything as it’s not my job to pay for my bins aswell as sort it!!
Beneath you is it?
Do you pay for a meal in a restaurant and cook it yourself?
Fool
Not beneath me old chap just not my job, to many people do what county hall wants yet their wasting is amazing. I don’t bother because they don’t yet I get the pleasure like you to pay for it!!
I don’t blame you, too many people are happy to pay one of the
Highest Council taxes in the country and do the Donkey work themselves.
The world is full of stupid B’stards
Fair play gave up with black bins smashed time after time !
Respect to all the refuse collection twam. They do an excellent job under trying conditions. The service in Merstone is first class- many thanks !
