Always ready to support other charities, members of 11th Newport Guides have recently presented a cheque for £50 to Newport’s Mountbatten Hospice.
With 1 of the 11th Newport Guides, Arianwen Craig, selected to attend an international trip the unit members decided to undertake fundraising for her. However, the fundraising events, especially a Bingo Night, proved popular, and the Guides chose to donate some of the money raised to the hospice.
Annabel Barber presented the cheque to hospice staff members recently with other members of the unit and leader Emma Bryson attending.
11th Newport Guides and 1st Carisbrooke (Princess Beatrice Own) Guides will, once again, be supporting Mountbatten’s Walk the Wight in May with some of the Guides and their leaders not only undertaking the walk but helping in other ways including presenting medals at the finish points.
